Bright 3-Bed Apartment with a Private Terrace in the Heart of Eixample
This beautifully renovated 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment offers 131.68 m² of elegant and functional living space, set on the second floor of a stately corner finca regia in L'Antiga Esquerra de l'Eixample, one of Barcelona's most desirable and well-connected residential areas.
The building itself is a fine example of early 20th-century architecture, featuring timeless design elements such as decorative façades, generous ceiling heights, and large windows. Carefully restored, it preserves the character of its original structure while incorporating modern-day comfort and technology.
Part of a boutique development of only three residences, this particular unit has been thoughtfully redesigned to combine classic elegance with contemporary style. The layout includes three bedrooms, two of which are en suite, and a third full bathroom, offering the perfect balance of privacy and shared living space. Ideal for families, professionals, or as a second home, the apartment has been created to enhance both daily life and long-term comfort.
One of the apartment's standout features is its abundant natural light, made possible by the building's corner position and large double-glazed windows throughout. The interiors are designed to maximize openness and brightness, with a fluid transition between living, dining, and kitchen areas. The use of natural oak herringbone parquet flooring brings warmth and continuity to the space, while high ceilings and clean lines elevate the sense of airiness.
The kitchen is fully fitted with premium integrated appliances and features matte-finish cabinets, natural wood accents, and ultra-compact porcelain countertops. The minimalist design is both visually refined and extremely practical, with clever storage solutions and integrated lighting that highlights materials and finishes.
Each bathroom follows a warm, modern aesthetic using grey microcement, natural stone touches, and brushed black fixtures. Spacious walk-in showers and custom glass screens provide a luxurious feel, while continuity of design enhances calm and relaxation. Every detail has been chosen to ensure harmony, functionality, and lasting visual appeal.
Beyond surface-level finishes, the renovation includes a full upgrade of the property's infrastructure. All electrical systems, plumbing, and telecommunications have been completely renewed to meet current safety and efficiency standards. A state-of-the-art aerothermal system has been installed to provide efficient heating, cooling, and hot water, reducing environmental impact while maximizing year-round comfort.
The building is also being fitted with a new elevator, providing easy access and adding modern convenience to this historical structure.
The apartment is located just steps from the University of Barcelona and close to Enric Granados and Consell de Cent, two of the most charming and walkable streets in Eixample. The surrounding area is known for its boutiques, cafés, art galleries, and restaurants, offering a vibrant and cultured lifestyle. Excellent public transport connections make it easy to reach every corner of the city, whether for work, leisure, or weekend escapes.

About Eixample Izquierdo
The Ensanche Izquierdo, or in Catalan, “Eixample Esquerra” literally means the left part of the “Ensanche”, which means “Expanse” or “Extension”. This is the most densely populated part of Barcelona with around 35 thousand people per square kilometre. This along with the central, well-planned location means Eixample Izquierdo real estate is possibly the most sought area in the city after or along with property in Zona Alta or Pedralbes.
Eixample is the result ofplans carried out in the mid 19th Century to allow a more structured city in comparison to the previous medieval urban sprawl. The need for a new area in which to expand from the old city down by the sea was becoming increasingly necessary. There was some contention in the awarding of the project given that the plan approved by the Barcelona town hall was given to the architect Rovira i Trias who wished for a more segregated city where the borgeous would be more comfortable and not have to mix with the lower classes. However the central government in Madrid rejected this idea and ordered that the grid system of the Eixample put forward by ldefonso Cerdá be put in place.
The left side of the Eixample is the area to the left of Passeig de Gràcia. Passeig de Gràcia is considered to be the backbone of the Eixample real estate. Eixample Izquierdo was built after Eixample Derecho and is the area between Diagonal at the top, Passeig de Gràcia and Gran Via to the bottom. Eixample Izquirdo extends to the left right up to Plaza de España, where the Mont Juic entrance to the Fira Exhibition area, the magic fountains and the palace lie.
For those looking to buy real estate in Eixample Izquierdo, you are truly spoilt with choice! Prices can vary quite a lot given the huge variety of sizes, types and also general condition of real estate. It is common to find apartments for 3000 Euros/ m2 next to buildings where the prices are closer to 5,500 Euros / m2. So much for location, location, location!
Typical real estate Eixample Izquierdo comprises of gloriously high ceilings, mosaic flooring and floor to ceiling wooden shutters. Despite many needing major refurbishment, it is a great investment with a guaranteed significant return.
